I was born and raised in Evansville. I attended Highland Elementary School (K-5), St. Benedict Cathedral School (6-8), and Memorial High School (2006). I played many sports throughout my life, but began to focus on cross-country and track and field in high school. I attended IUPUI in Indianapolis, where I ran cross-country. I graduated in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in History with a concentration in American History. I worked in Indianapolis for a couple years after graduation. In 2012, I moved back to Evansville.
After struggling to find work in the History field, I decided to return to school to become a teacher. I went to USI and completed my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education in 2015 and my master's degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in reading instruction in 2017.
My husband, Derek, and I have been married for eight years. We have no children, but we do have two Siberian Huskies, Koda and Krue. They have an abundant amount of energy and keep us very busy with walks, runs and playing catch.
My first three years at Scott I taught 5th and 6th grade. I then moved to Physical Education. I have now been teaching P.E. for five years. I always look forward to providing each student the knowledge and skills needed to enhance fitness and promote a healthy lifestyle. I have high expectations for my students and through motivation, determination, persistence, perseverance, effort and discipline, I know all of my students will be able to reach and or exceed their maximum physical health.
I am very excited for another year at Scott Elementary!
